The register of complementary and alternative medicine therapists, or the TAM register of therapists, is a database where the Estonian Complementary and Alternative Medicine Council collects, stores, and systematizes information about professions, occupational standards, and valid qualifications and certificates with the goal of organizing the field of complementary and alternative medicine in Estonia by distinguishing trained therapists. The management of the therapists' register follows the Personal Data Protection Act.
The purpose of the therapists' register is to ensure an organized professional system in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. The register is helpful for:
1.
employers, who can check whether the specialist they are interested in has a valid professional certificate,
2.
people using services in the field of complementary and alternative medicine, who can choose qualified and trustworthy service providers,
3.
holders of issued certifications, to see their valid and expired certifications.
